stay away - lowest rents don't make it a bargain

What an awful place! There are probably worse, but this has to come pretty close for Chapel Hill/Carrboro.
The US Postal Service doesn't use parcel boxes or leave packages with the office, rather they simply leave things at the apartment door. I had two expected packages that I never received. The mail facilities in general aren't that reliable. I'd recommend a PO box.
Noise is a serious problem and management don't seem to address it. They do address some visible problems, but then through poorly written and ineffective notices left at each apartment door.
The apartment complex in general has a bad reputation for crime. On average, the police visit more than once a month. The most common incidents are domestic disturbances and noise complaints, but the management provides no security to deal with these problems.
Management staff are unreliable and not always present. Contrary to what is stated on the office hours sign and the voice mail recording, the office is NOT open on weekends. They use a credit reporting service other than Equifax called SafeRent. Its quality is questionable; I was initially denied for a lease based on this credit report, but an Equifax report that I requested three weeks later showed no credit problems whatsoever.
Maintenance do not offer the best service and only respond quickly to major problems (such as broken windows, which should be read as a statement about the safety of the complex).
In general, stay away from this place. Its reputation is deserved, and although it appears that attempts have been made to improve things, it's not a good place to be.
