Homey, Happy Yellow Neighborhood!

My roommate and I got bumped from Laurel Ridge to Rock Creek, and it couldn't have been a better turn of fate. The two bedroom where we live is perfect for sharing, as the bedrooms are the same size and each comes with its own bathroom. The layout is also nice, with the sink outside of the toilet/tub area (her room has two sinks, as it is technically the "guest" bathroom) & lots of counter space. We have a washer and dryer as part of our deal for having to switch complexes, so we haven't used the clubhouse facilities all that much. Rock Creek has quite a reputation, though, as being the "apartment complex with the jacuzzi" so I'm going to try to use it before my lease is up. Overall, the office staff people are very nice and attentive, although turnover seems high.
We have very recently had problems with a mouse--nothing too terrible, and their was a quick response from the maintenance and office staff.
The only things I don't like about the apartment itself are the small kitchen and the lack of windows. Our first floor apartment is very dark, but we have a great view of the creek and woods behind our apartment from the sliding glass door in the living room.
Our neighbors are also very friendly and they watch out for us, as we do for them. There are a few families over here, as well as many graduate and professional students.
Above all, it just seems happy and quiet over in Rock Creek--not generic like other nearby "student" apartment complexes. The buildings are sunny and yellow, and the landscaping is beautiful (the cherry blossoms just bloomed!!). I would definitely live here again, but would want to move into one of the villa-style buildings.
