I moved in last year & a friend who's shopping now asked about Rock Creek after reading the reviews. I was surprised and felt the need to post my thoughts. I didn't know a lot about the area (came over from Cary). The staff was friendly, which had a lot to do with my decision. There's a lot to choose from in Carrboro, and really...all the apartments are priced about the same, some newer than others. The maintenance guys are always out the same day and the office knows me by name. It's not the newest property in the area, but it's well maintained. I must have moved after the road problems and all the work, because it's been pretty quiet. After reading the other postings my friend called the police dept to check it out, and found that Rock Creek had the lowest criminal activity of the apartments she was considering. Lots of people are walking their dogs and walking at night, and I've never felt unsafe coming in at night. When picking out our apartment, the office encouraged both of us to scout the location and not just go by the map because of the hills and positions of the buildings. They were right, you really need to walk each location to find the one you want. (due to hillsides, stairs or bus) You know it's true, the people who are unhappy usually scream the loudest. Maybe they should have taken a little more responsibility and check everything out for themselves before hand.

In summary, I'm happy here. I don't use the gym as much as I should, but it has all the basics. The property is quiet, my neighbors are friendly and I have no complaints.
