Beware Utilities

I lived in a 1 BR apartment for 10 months. When I moved in I was told by the leasing agent to expect $45-75/month for utilities. But when winter came, it shot up like crazy...I was out of the country for two weeks, I turned my heat down to 60, and my utility bill for a 28-day cycle was $169. For less than 700 Square feet. (My current residence is twice as big and the utility bill has been cut by at least 60%.) Piedmont Electric blamed the Rock Creek, Rock Creek blamed PE and me. But I was assured that it should go down the next billing cycle...didn't happen, it went up. I had no recourse and had to pay. So I got out of there as fast as possible.

Also had mold problems inside and outside. Leaky A/C was a problem, carpets were constantly wet, and when I asked mgmt to either clean or replace the carpet (due to multiple leaks), nothing happened.

I would find that damn meter and learn how to read it. How can it be rock creeks fault?
Turn off the environmental controls and dont shower for a month & see if your bill goes down. Have you ever noticed how people from India stink like ---- when they first get here? Its because washing is expensive. Take a lesson from our Indian bros.

Hey dumbass (aka bebopper), I lived at Rock Creek for 10 months and can attest to the fact that the utility bills are abnormally high. While my experiences left me little to rave about Rock Creek, I can promise you and everyone else reading this that the bulk of the electricity bill issue was the fault of Piedmont. I tracked the per-kWh costs of electricity for the entire time I was at Rock Creek and then again for several months after I moved to a location serviced by Duke Energy. The per-kWh electricity costs, *taken from the utility bills*, indicated that Piedmont was charging 40-50% more per kWh than Duke Energy. I can't attest to the "newness" of Rock Creek's A/C or heating equipment, so a few pennies worth of that may have belonged to Rock Creek, but PIEDMONT IS THE PROBLEM!
