Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2008
I lived in Rock Creek from Feb 2007 to Aug 2008 and had an overall good time. These are the least expensive apartments in Carrboro that have (a) nice layout (b) w/d hookups, and (c) are not ghetto. The apartment management staff is very responsive and I never had problems with them regarding maintenance requests. The location of the complex is in a wooded area with a stream, so there will be some animals around, but I didn't have them in my apartment. The plus side of being on the edge of Carrboro is good biking in the country, fresh air, and minimal noise pollution from NC 54.
I would suggest Rock Creek as a good apartment complex for grad students looking for a rather quiet place to live. It is also very convenient to UNC campus because it is a terminus of the J line, which runs every 15-20 minutes well into the night.
Be mindful of apartments that are near the new high school that face the road as this is a bus parking area.
