After seeing this site for the first time the other day, I decided to share my Royal Park horror stories with other single women. I rented an apartment here without ever seeing it because I was moving from New York (dumb of me, I know). Not only was my apartment INFESTED with spiders (I killed at least 5 per day), the hispanic children upstairs would knock on my door at midnight and then run back upstairs each night. I have no idea where their parents were then or every night when they would smash raw eggs on my landing by dropping them from the third floor. My parents car was broken into after they drove all the way from New York to see me, and a package was stolen right off my front step. My neighbors had eight people living in a one bedroom apartment and would let their children ride a skateboard down the hill almost onto 54. Turning that blind corner one day, I almost ran a child over. There were many times that I was accosted by Hispanic men and people begging for money and each time was made to feel very uncomfortable. After finding out that someone was raped there a couple months ago, I wasn't surprised in the least seeing as how it is poorly lit near the entrances to the buildings. I couldn't wait for my 13 month lease to end, and move the hell out of there. I wouldn't recommend Royal Park as a place to live even if you are homeless and they offer you a free room. For $630 a month, which is what I was paying, you can live in one of the nice areas of Chapel Hill.

You really have no place to say anything because you didn't see the apartment before you moved in. If you had, maybe you would have seen these things and not rented. I place the blame on you. Next time, maybe you should check out the place you're going to live BEFORE you move in.

I disagree. I never got to see what I was gonna get and I lived in that area. THEY WILL CIRCLE YOU AROUND THE AREA in a few minutes and ask you if you are going to take it or not. THEY ARE NOT GOING TO LET YOU SIT AROUND FOR A FEW MONTHS AND SEE IF YOU LIKE IT OR NOT BEFORE YOU START PAYING FOR IT!! SO I strongly DISAGREE. IN the few minutes they give you to decide.. YOU HAVE TO MAKE YOUR CHOICE UP THERE.. So swallow all that nonsense your typing because you cant find out what type of area you are going to move into in a few minutes. and her exsp. coming from NEW YORK she would have no sight of a clue... I AGREE WITH YOU Miss. NY!
