Compared to a few years ago, the apartment complex has more UNC students and more families.....
and is safe.
The kids play outside in the evenings and get get a bit loud sometimes, but no noise probles at all otherwise.

I agree! The apartments are located in a good location (close to UNC close to stores) but some of the neighbors are a bit sketchy. There are quiet nights then there are loud nights where you hear Hispanic music being blasted in the parking lots. This complex has a lot of families with young children so expect some noise in the parking lot if it's warm outside, meaning if you're a student it may be hard to get some quiet studying time during the day.
The inside of the apartment is alright for the price. Appliances are a bit outdated but they work. Expect roaches!!! I've been in my apartment for close to a year and even after the exterminator came 3 times I still see roaches. Not sure if exterminator works for the complex but when he comes it doesn't even seem like he's doing any real work. Sprays in 2 cabinets then leaves, you see roaches again the very next day. Apartment complex will do routine apartment checks (exterminate, change air filter), but they don't give you any notice until the day before they come.
The staff at RP is horrible! In the year that I've been at the complex the office staff has never greeted me with a friendly hello when I walk into the office. I feel like they are an incompetent lot. I sat and watched a staff member fill out a report with so many misspelled words. Office staff members are rude. I've been renting for quite a while now and in the last apt. complex, which probably had as many units if not more units than this complex , the management team greeted me by name when I went into the office. I doubt anyone of the Royal Park staff members know my name. I have only spoken with the manager of the property once and that was before I moved in. That was the only contact that I EVER had with him. Seems he doesn't go out of his way to know any of the residents and the same goes for the rest of the office staff. I have never been so unsatisfied with the customer service of an apartment complex!
