A terrible management

The new management at the Bridges at chapel hill is terrible. they are rude and quite ignorant of your complaints. the apartments are nice but the staff really make your stay an unpleasant experience.

This comment offers no help! Is there anything in particular that you are complaining about? I have been a resident here for over five years and this management team has proved to be more responsive to your needs and have improved the property greatly since thy arrived.

I have been a resident for two years here (and at other apartments around the country) and the management (especially the new management since this place became 'Bridges') is absolutely first class. All maintenance items were handled quicky and the staff is second to none. Period. Too many stupid whiners.

Particular things:
It took 2 weeks to have somebody even come to look at my garbage disposal (even with the 24 hour guarantee.)
Changed our renewal rate 3 times.
Told us we could have a fan when we renewed, and never put one in. After 2 months, and again mentioning to them, they said, "Oh, only third floors can have fans." Then said they would give us carpet cleaning instead....10 months later, there is none.
We have been given less than 12 hours notice on days that we could not use our front door from 9am to 4:30pm. This is very difficult when you have a dog, or appointments that need to be met. On one particular instance, they were staining the deck. It was still dry at 5:15. We were told in our note (received 12 hours previously) that any stain on the carpet would then be our responsibility.
They do not take responsibility for the companies they have contracted to do work.
After an extremely disturbing crime, we were promised a police officer (which caused our rates to increase) to be here after dark. The police officer drives through the parking lot once around 10:30.
Crime has increased infinitely since the new management. (I encourage you to go to the Carrboro police department and check the crime records. I suggest reading 2003-present. I also would never live on the ground floor as a woman.)
One of the two grills by the pool does not work, and has been broken for months. This is a problem during the peak of summer with 144 apartments.
The management is finicky about who can have any beverages (alcoholic or not) in the pool area (where the grills are.)
The dog waste receptacles are not cleaned out in a timely manner.
The gym membership is actually $25 per year. This is not really a big deal, but it is still not free as it was advertised.
We were initially promised a new workout room, and they therefore canceled the previous managements gym membership. After 7 months, they finally decided to get a new membership.

I agree with furniture27. I thought the new management (BNP) was absolutely rude and inconsiderate. They left rude messages on my cell phone and wrote me nasty emails when they thought I had not returned a key from them. First of all, they mistook me for my room mate and secondly, my room mate had returned the key in a timely fashion, they just did not check the key drop properly. After I moved out because I was tired of dealing with the rude management, they called me again (after ~6 months!) and asked me to pay an unpaid bill (for which they had made yet another mistake and the bill had been paid by my room mate months before!). The management is unprofessional and very difficult to deal with. Although the units are very nice and new, it was not worth dealing with their incompetence. I do not recommend this apartment complex and have gone so far as to vocalizing this to incoming students in my program.
