I lived in a 2 bed/1 1/2 bath from 2002-2003 and I have to say what the last person said. I couldn't stay warm in the winter and I was hot in the summer. The heating device and AC was TERRIBLE. I also had to walk around with socks and extra shirts on. Maintance was good...as far as in coming quickly...but, they couldn't fix my heating and cooling device. My electric bill was almost on average...$200 a month. But, in order to keep it below 200 I had to suffer in the summer and not running the AC...well, run the air...because it wasn't cool either way. I stayed on top of someone so, I had the luxury of not hearing people above me. But, there were little boys that stayed beside me and their room was beside mine and I could hear them hitting on the walls and crying, etc. The person who wrote the Chapel HIll Tradition MUST be someone who works for the Villages or something because if you can't take people being real on here...then, you don't need to read their comments but, I just don't want people to waste their money at this place when there are other places with better quality apartments that cost the same price in Chapel Hill and in Durham. The Villages are VERY OLD....as OLD as KINGSWOOD...yeah the mushroom shaped apts. that is on the main highway...just call the office and ask! You are paying 300 dollars more just to stay in a place that is just as old and these apartments look OK on the outside but, it feels as though you are staying on the outside....because your apt. is going to real exactly like it is on the outside...oh...and don't forget those cold and snowy winters...you wouldnt want to see that electric bill! And to the person who wrote A Chapel HIll tradition....I am not a unhappy person...or whatever you called the people that complained....but, I just didn't not like my stay at the Villages...and that is why I moved after my least was up! PLEASE THINK WISE AND CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU MOVE INTO THE VILLAGES! I am in the better apt. in Durham now and my electric bill is unbelievably cheap...4 times cheaper and I am running my AC ALL the time...and I am sure that I am going to stay warm in the winter....no more 200 dollar bills...now I am saving 160 dollars and I am staying cool in the summer! Since my electric bill is 160 dollars cheaper I am gaining 60 dollars a month and I don't have to hike to the pool and the gym! I love my new apt. and I hope that the Villages is NOT the place you choose.
