This is my second stay at Amberwood. I originally stayed here in 2006 - 2007 and had a wonderful time.

I have lived at Amberwood for over a year. As a consultant, I travel from site to site and have stayed in many different places. My current assignment has ended and it is with sadness that I must leave Amberwood again. Their location makes for an easy, 15-minute drive to work in downtown Raleigh as well as a quick 15-minute drive to the airport.

Amberwood is an extremely quiet neighborhood.

It is an older complex that is well maintained and kept up. The kitchens could use an upgrade but all is clean and working. Being older, the walls and soundproofing are much better that the newer cracker-boxes . I never hear any of the surrounding apartments. During this second stay, I lived in the larger 1 bedroom that comes with a fireplace. The first time, I lived in the smaller 1 bedroom with no fireplace. Either unit works for me but I think I prefer the kitchen layout of the smaller 1 bedroom -- personal preference.

Built when developers built around trees instead of clearing and flattening the land, there are trees everywhere. In the fall, there are snowdrifts of multi-colored leaves that make for postcard pictures. An added benefit of the trees is the shade in the summer. There is always plenty of parking. The complex is located on a quiet street with no highway or street noise.

To those writing negatives about the staff. In my opinion, the staff is excellent. Many renters do not realize that major corporations own most apartments and a lot of the rules are dictated by the corporation. If you realize this and work within their guidelines then your stay can be very pleasant. If I ever return to the Raleigh area; I will definitely stay here again.
