Smokes and mirros apartment complex

We moved there from out of North Carolina. We thought we were getting a deal compared to what we were paying before. During initial lease signing they gave us the standard two-month discount, and we thought this is a super deal. However, once we lived in it, we learned a lot more. We learned that our roof was leaking, they have attempted to repair it before, then claimed they fixed it, but apparently did not do a good job, cosmetic repairs, leaked again, this cycle went on for three times while we occupied the apartment. Insulation was bad, paid a lot for heat in winter and air conditioning in summer ($180 on average). Complaints did not do so well, all we got from management, that they live in a similar apartment ('!) on the property and they do not pay this much (i.e. we are liars) we showed them the bills. When it rains heavily, we hear the rain on the roof; we thought it was going to collapse (it did not). Pool use, is basically limited. They raised the rent when we went month to month trying to find a better place, in addition, a month-to-month (monthly) penalty. When we rented another apartment, they tried to negotiate and reduce our rent to stay (they even gave us a better deal than we got at the beginning). We rented a better apartment, less rent, and we are satisfied, till now. When we were leaving, we asked management to inspect the apartment to see if they had any comments needed to be addressed by us before we left; they said it is all right and no need to do that, then, they did not pay us back our deposit claiming they had to clean the place up after we left!. When insisted by phone, they became very rude and abusive. Management was not responsive to occupant requests hoping they will go away. They would not return phone calls; will not respond unless followed up in person. Very arrogant. Lots of insects from the grounds, especially mosquitoes (carrying a punch and will leave a good and lasting mark)

In addition, driving out of the complex to the 55 in the morning heading to RTP is suicide, trying to on the highway across traffic. At night, entrance is not properly lit. Cannot walk to amenities, the nearest shopping is about 1.5 miles away. Limited services.
