Cornerstone Apartments gave off a good vibe when I first checked it out. There were kids playing outside, and neighbors chatting outside their apartments. I was given a quote for my rental cost, and completed my application.
Once I moved in, reality set in. The leasing office jumped my rent up $100 and added on charges without informing me.
The paint on the walls scuffs if you look at it wrong, if you have children you are absolutely out of luck. The walls are paper-thin, so you will know all of your neighbors grievances. The same can be said for the windows, when the wind blows, the blinds blow out too. So much for energy efficiency...
No one here is really friendly, they tend to keep to themselves. I miss knowing the names of my neighbors!
I liked dogs until I moved in here. I have rented in buildings with dogs before, but for some reason Cornerstone's dogs are awful. Someone is always barking, (and with those thin walls, you know it) and there is dog poop EVERYWHERE. No one cleans up after their pets. Maybe its because they are only home long enough to let their dogs out to poop, then they leave them to bark in the apartment all day long.
I was really disappointed with Cornerstone, and my lease couldn't be up too soon.
