I wish I could have seen some of these reviews before I moved in the Ghetto at Cary Park. I should have know something was up when I moved in...everybody in the apartment came out to watch. It was so uncomfortable. We had to take turns taking stuff into the apartment so one of us could keep an eye on the stuff we were moving. The apartment had a horrible smell in it, especially in the bathroom. When I was moving I notice a smell and so did the manager and said "I don't think your carpet has been cleaned." Well the bathrooms were not clean either and the foyer was nasty and smelly. I told the lady that worked in the front office that the apartment needed to be cleaned and she was very nice and got someone over there right away. But this man came over with a nasty smelly mop and mopped up the foyer and I knew then why it was smelly in the first place. I smiled and said thank you and sent him on his way. I thought to myself "what should I expect with the amount of rent I'm paying" Well I didn't expect this. My apartment was on the first floor so the noise was crazy. Yeah there were alot of kids and I have two myself but you have to control your kids. Keep an eye on them. These kids were loud and just disrespectful to the community. I couldn't figure out how the cement got so nasty! I asked the Manager "do you'll powerwash these apartments" he said "yeah, we should have someone coming out to do that soon". I came home one day and they sprayed down the area with a water hose. I couldn't believe it. I had to wipe the outside of my door down with pine sol and I had would splash pine sol and water outside in front of my door way. It was just so nasty that when I walked up to my door I didn't even want to stick the key in the key hole to open the door. OH and bugs! At first I didn't see any roaches but I had PLENTY of centipedes!!! They were coming in under the front door, cracks in the windows every single night! I would stuff plastic under the door to keep them from coming in. So lets recap. The apartment had a horrible smell, centipedes (later I had roachs-last draw), mold in the master bath (not at good sign), and when it rained...the carpet in the master bedroom would be damp. I woke up one morning and I went to put my socks on (I wouldn't dare walk around the house barefoot) and they were damp. Oh I couldn't stand not being comfortable in my own home. Now safety was another issue. I was very uncomfortable with the grown men that obviously didn't work, standing around the breezeways and my apartment. One time I came home and 3 young men were around the side of my apartment with there dogs. I thought they were trying to have a dog fight. I didn't ask, I just went to my apartment and locked the door and didn't come out until the next morning when I left for work. I truely disliked this place. I'm a black young female with two small kids and I am very particular about their surroundings and these surroundings over at the Grove at Cary Park was not good. They really need to make some changes. I recommend that if the rent fits your pocket go and check the place out. Check it out on Saturday, Sunday, and after 5pm during the week. I fell to do that. I moved in in June of 2005 and left in Aug of 2005. My kids started school in Aug, 2005 and when they get out of school in the afternoon they reach home before I do. Well they were not about to get off the bus and go into the apartment by themselves. No not at the Groves at Cary Park. That would have torn my nerves up. So I moved. I was there for two months and the thought of living there again makes me very unhappy. I think I became depress while staying there. Oh I couldn't wait to leave. If you have to live there until you can do better, get on the top floor and make sure you request that they spray your place for bugs every other week.

I don't think you had to tell a long drawn out story. I've lived here for 3 yrs and it's been good and bad. Every community has good and bad. You get what you pay for!

No, this was a very good depiction of what goes on over there and I feel that it was necessary for this young mother to tell it the way that she did...to keep other single parents from going through this drama.
