You may want to reconsider....

I agree with what other residents have said. The management is friendly but totally ineffective. If you call with an issue, he promises to get it taken care of immediately but doesn't do anything. On average, we have to call 3-4 times to get anything taken care of. We have had to wait weeks and even months to get simple maintenance issues fixed.

The other major problem with this property is that there is dog crap everywhere!!! It is all over the walkways and grass throughout the property. The property manager either does not relay the message to maintenance to have it cleaned up or maintenance doesn't do it, but either way, you're sure to step in dog feces at least once a week.

Other less important but still equally annoying issues are:
- Paint is peeling off the buildings and wood is rotting in some places.
- The fitness room only contains two machines and weights and you can be sure they will be broken with no hope of fixing them. We finally had to buy a gym membership because we could never use the equipment in there.
- Walls are very thin and you will hear EVERYTHING your neighbors do (we hear talking, singing, snoring, and an amorous couple). The thin walls are especially annoying since everyone around has dogs.

The only problem that I have not experienced that others have mentioned is with parking. I have never had trouble finding a parking spot, no matter what time I come home. Perhaps parking is tighter in some areas than others.

Hyde Park advertises that they are "pet friendly" but they certainly aren't tenant friendly!

Perhaps the dog pooh is an issue just in a certain area of the complex? I haven't seen any outside of maybe some in the straw areas once in few weeks, if that. We've experienced some delay in maintenance, but overall they've been fairly quick to remedy any problems. The comment of wood rotting is interesting as it was only in the last month or so that they hired crews that came in to replace the rotting wood. Paint is always going to peel on older buildings and it's only in the beginning stages currently. I would imagine a repaint on the trim (as the darker is stain that doesn't peel) will happen soon. I don't use the fitness room, but I've noticed people using it all the time when I'm checking my mailbox. Would they use broken equipment? We've never experienced a problem with noise from neighbors outside of the occassional sports fan shouting from a game, but that's pretty rare. Yes, you'll hear dogs barking at times, but you can't get away from that even in a house if there's a dog a few houses down. You'd still hear it. We haven't experienced parking problems either. I'm confused at why people would not have a good review of this place overall, unless they're rude to the management. That's the only way I could see any problems arising.
