Convenient and nice, lacks sophistication

We like the 1.5 mi pond/trail; we get a nice wooded view out the balcony but bright morning sunshine too.
Maintenance level is going down though - some amenities are cut. For example, car vaccuum at the car washing station, lights leading to pool - all have been (or are still) broken.
In fact, lately, they have been turning off a lot of lights - during the day, they won't light the entryways into apartments. That doesn't seem like a problem, but if you live here, you'd know that you can't see your key/keyhole without those lights. Natural light just doesn't cut it when in the covered entryways. Not only that, they started cutting back on illuminating their landscape - walking to drop off garbage a couple of nights ago, we had a hard time seeing in the dark.
Office staff don't turn over as much as they used to (according to other reviews) but they sure have gotten more frustrated; their letters address problem tenants, but it isn't like they're going over-the-top for pleasing their better tenants. (They point out problems we as tenants do, but don't address things such as when they are going to fix things around the complex or announce the fact that they are cutting back on lights in order to conserve energy/money - they could ask the tenants whether this is affecting them).
WIC are great, but the kitchen/bath cabinets are awful! And the kitchen has no pantry. But can?t beat living next to Harris Teeter, WalMart and Whole Foods!
