Great apartments in Cary

The Marquis at Preston is the second apartment complex that I've lived in in Cary, and I am very pleased with my residence. The construction is of high quality, there is plenty of well-lit parking, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I have friends who've had difficulties with the staff at other apartments in the Triangle, but I have never had any problems like that.
Like other reviews have said, one of the highlights of these apartments is the huge balconies. I have a one bedroom apartment, the smallest floorplan offered, but my balcony (third floor) is still 170 square feet (actually larger than my bedroom). Also, the master bathroom in every unit has a large garden tub with glass sliding doors, which is a plus.
The complex overall is very attractive. The landscaping is well kept, and there are lightly wooded courtyards near most of the buildings. Also, all the buildings are constructed of brick which goes all the way up to the roof, which looks a lot classier than the siding that other apartments use.
The gym is standard for an apartment. It has some treadmills and exercise bikes, but for a serious workout, you'd have to go to a gym (there are several within a few minutes drive). But the pool is first-rate. It actually has two 25 yard lap lanes, which since they're usually not being used, just adds to the size of the pool. Plus there is a large wooden deck surrounding a hot tub.
This really is a great apartment for people who work in RTP, who don't want to live near the noise of all the college kids from the nearby universities. The rent isn't as high as I would have expected based on the quality, and the service once you've moved in is as professional as you could possibly ask for. Highly recommended.
