The apartments themselves are wonderful, everything else...eeep!

We lived here for a year before my husband was transferred to Omaha. I would agree that the place is going downhill. The apartments themselves are wonderful. Creatively designed, very attractive, minimal noise from neighbors, huge balconies. Our apartment had a wood-burning fireplace, arched ceilings, HUGE bathrooms. I REALLY LOVED the apartment itself. The staff was dishonest and terrible, parking could really be a pain at times, and the grounds are beautifully landscaped but very small, not to mentioned COVERED in pet refuse. It's also located right off of Cary Parkway, so it could be very noisy (traffic, sirens, planes) and I felt unsafe outside at night. If you are a business or city person, working in the city and living a fast paced life, this place is probably perfect for you. If you're at home a lot or have a family, try Avalon Peaks over in Apex.

Is this a joke? Cary, a fast paced life? Preston unsafe? Give me a break. Cary, NC was one of the safest cities in the entire country in 2007. I live in this complex as well, and I will admit that there are a few things to be unhappy about, but I smell a shill or otherwise one unhappy customer holding a grudge with these multiple postings about safety and crime here. One person even complained about hearing GUNSHOTS!? PLEASE! I don't deal with the staff much, so I cannot speak for them, but the complaints about safety here are borderline slander...

To nukemeds reponse....there have been gunshots at the Marquis. It happened a few years ago from one of the poolside apartments. Have lived here 6 years and each year the management gets worse and worse. Just had a talk with the manager a week ago and per her answers....there are no rules at the Marquis. She is not going to enforce them because, if she did, "no one would live here". Dogs run without leashes, dog feces all over, garbage areas are unsafe and unsanitary, the pool hardly ever gets cleaned on a regular basis, glass in the pool area is okay by the manager(she even breaks this rule...she openly admitted it to me), they do nothing about noisy neighbors(they will tell you to call the police)and(this is the main reason why I am leaving)...they are doing nothing about people grilling on their patios. So...no one is being "borderline slanderous". One more item. Water usage? You can have the amount of gallons used per month along with the rate per 1000 gallons and they will, still, "estimate" your bill higher than what these two values will come up with. These are the facts. Contact CWS?? They do nothing. I have written two letters of complaint with no reply. All they look for is the rent checks coming in each month.

I live here now and they are very nice. I think 3 of the 4 live here as well. They must be different ones from 2007-2009. It's hard to believe there were ever gunshots here. I would check with the Cary police before I would believe that one. It seems like a lot of these complaints (not all) are more about dog owners and neighbors rather than about the apartments. It's amazing what some people will say when there is no filter or face to call on their validity.
