Update from a 5 year Resident

Years at this apartment: 2005-01-01 - 2010-01-01
This is an update to the review I posted on 6/4/2005.
Earlier this year, after living at the Park at Crossroads for a little over 5 years, I decided to make a change in my life and move to a different type of apartment community -- to an "eco-friendly" community. Huge mistake. It was neither "eco" nor "friendly." I had to get out of there. So I searched all over the Raleigh/Cary area for apartments, and in the end, I couldn't find a better place than the Park at Crossroads. After living at that "eco-friendly" community for 3 months, I moved back to the Park at Crossroads.
For me, the location of the Park at Crossroads is perfect. I love having access to all the stores at Cary Crossroads. Plus, being able to easily hop onto I-40 or the beltline is very convenient. I can be in Raleigh, Apex, Holly Springs, or Durham in a matter of minutes.
The amenities are nice and the maintenance staff is great. Whenever I've had a problem (which hasn't been frequent), it gets fixed in a timely manor.
I can't say enough nice things about the management at the Park at Crossroads. My experience with them has been extremely positive - unlike any other place I've ever lived.
Unfortunately, when I moved back, my apartment was on the top floor above a noisy/difficult neighbor (which can happen at any apartment community). The only solution was for me to transfer to a different unit. While it can be a pain to move again, living beside someone who is disrespectful of his/her neighbors is much worse. Management was excellent about working with me to transfer to a different apartment.
Overall, I would recommend the Park at Crossroads. I have enjoyed living here and hope to continue living here for years to come.

Review from 6/4/2005:
The Park at Crossroads is a very nice apartment community. Although the community is still under construction (building apartments, mailboxes, the club house, pool, etc.), I really like living here...and expect it to only get better when everything is completed. I've been here for 4 months and so far, so good...
PARKING -- The building I live in seems to be completely full and I have yet to experience any parking problems. There are always plenty of spaces -- even enough spaces for guests to park and visit. Also, the parking areas and entrances to the apartment buildings are well lit.
NOISE/CONSTRUCTION -- The wall construction seems to be fairly noise proof in regards to hearing my neighbors beside me. The floor, however, seems to be a little thin. It would have been nice to have more of a noise barrier between my floor and my neighbor's ceiling below me. I'm on the top floor so I don't experience a lot of noise in general, but I've noticed that if I walk normally, it can sound like I'm pounding on the floor (when I'm not) -- so I've learned to walk more light-footed so I don't disturb my neighbor below me. The only time this would be a problem is if you lived below someone who walks very heavy.
You can hear people coming up the steps, but that's normal at most apartments. And I've noticed that if I'm walking up the steps to my apartment, and people are talking really loud inside their apartments, I can hear what they're saying. But when you're inside your apartment everything seems very quiet for the most part. In general, the noise is non-existent. I really never hear anything. The things I've mentioned are very minor noises.
No signs of bugs or anything scary...
The interior is really nice. Large molding, nice colored walls, beautiful kitchen cabinets and appliances, easy to clean carpet, large storage room, and need I mention the bathroom... The shower/tub is huge and has built-in shelves for putting shampoo, etc. The bathroom sink/counter top is marble (or maybe marble-looking, not sure), but it's one solid piece. So when you're cleaning, it's a snap. There's no sink "lip" to clean around.
GROUNDS -- Everything is really coming together. It's hard to rate this part since there's still so much construction, but overall, everything is kept tidy. The one exception is that there's some dog pooping issues in the front of my building -- but I believe the apartment office is trying to remedy the situation.
SAFETY -- Everything is very well lit and "feels" safe.
MAINTENANCE AND OFFICE STAFF -- Finally! Yes, it does exist... a nice office staff and quick maintenance. I had a couple of MINOR things that needed attention when I moved in and maintenance was there in a flash to fix it. The office staff is super nice and friendly -- very down to earth. They really listen to what you're saying and seem to be willing to do whatever they can to keep the community safe and clean -- in efforts to provide a wonderful living experience for the residents.
LOCATION -- These apartments are right around the corner from Cary Crossroads -- shopping!!! They are very convenient to US-1, 64 and I-40.
OVERALL -- The one thing I wish they were going to have is a car care center. But overall, this is a great place to live and I am very happy with my decision to lease here. I would definitely recommend this community. It's been stress-free living!
