Overall I enjoy my apartment in Preston's Reserve. It is very spacious, a little pricey, but nice on the exterior building and interior apartment. There are a few things however that would make me not recommend this place to anyone and why I will not renew my lease when it comes time. I will spare the minute details and cut to the main reason I feel this way. The office staff and maintence have always been very friendly, this is nothing against them, just bad planning and lack of organization (and maybe communication) on the management company and propery manager.
There is NO parking at night. The company tells you (for 6 months) that they are trying to correct this problem that "they are aware of"... (middle of the winter=more empty apartments... still no parking' It gets even worse in the summer!) Instead of setting their minds to fixing the parking problem they decide to block off large sections of the parking lot to "reseal" the pavement.... this is ridiculous and makes no sense. To top it off there is a serious lack of lighting throughout walkways in the community. When you do get home at oh, 9pm and have to park on the other side of the property you need to walk in the dark to get home! I don't feel safe doing this at all and the management company and/or staff don't seem to see this as a concern. I'm just waiting until I get attacked one night.... maybe then they will see it as a concern.
People who are supposed to park in/behind their garages don't. When you express concern to the staff they seem shocked at this idea and say they will be on it right away. Yes, they are prompt about sending out letters with empty threats to "those residents who need to be parking in the garages and not using them for storage" It doesn't matter though, they do nothing about it.
If this can't be taken seriously, I will choose to move elsewhere and I advise you to do the same.
I would also like to leave a challenge to the manager of the property (who I am sure sees these reviews) to defend or explain (on this site, or in altter to all his/her resident) why this parking situation is not being taken seriously, or at least being given the attention it deserves... by reading these reviews, it obvious your residents are very unhappy.... basic rule of business: Good customer service=happy customers=long time customers and excellent word-of-mouth referrals.

I've lived at Preston's Reserve in building 700 for almost 5 years now, and while the parking is sometimes hard to come by, i've never not been able to find a spot within a few hundred feet of my building. If walking is such a terrible issue, maybe you should look at yourself and figure out why you have such an issue with it. As for the lighting, the lots are lit well, and I agree the path between lots through the woods could be lit better, but as for not feeling safe...c'mon, you live in PRESTON-probably the safest neighborhood in Cary. Police regularly patrol the Cary/preston streets, including our apartment complex. There is nothing to feel unsafe about. I regularly walk at night, after 9PM without issue or concern. |

well, just a few months ago, 4 cars were broken into in front of building 2200 AND in front of the parking just by the clubhouse/pool area.
I guess if punks can be out stealing stereos, they can just as easily mug a resident who has to park a good distance away from his/her building.
I have also complained to management about the lack of parking spaces AND about the residents who have garages, yet take up parking in front of the buildings. In my building we've had some residents for a couple of months now who insist on taking up one of the FIVE spaces RIGHT in front of the building with their huge H3 or one of their other cars, always swapping one for the other when they move cars. They have a garage. I think this is very rude and inconsiderate, and have complained to management, but I don't think they really care.

Wow, so y'all implemented some sort of car parking sticker which has done absolutely nothing and parking has not improved at all. Still haven't seen a SINGLE TOW TRUCK to tow ANYONE in the FIRE LANES.... which only morons wouldn't be able to recognize as an issue.... hmmmmm, maybe I'll just call the fire marshall and get y'all fined for having cars in the firelanes (I have to dodge them every night when I go to drop my trash at the dumpster). MAYBE just then ya'll will actually do something HELPFUL about this issue. God forbid this apartment complex should EVER have a fire.... the whole darn place would go up in flames b/c fire-trucks can't get in. I agree with the original writer of this greviance.
