This place my look good from the out side, but don t let the good looks fool you. Bad parking, or should I say no parking. Management will not address the issue. If you live on the first or second floor you will hate it. The floors are very thin you hear every thing, and God help you if you live under children! if you live on the first floor the grounds people blow all the crap out of the grass on to you patio, what joy. If people above you smoke, you had better be wearing fire retardant clothing. Ashes, ashes they all fall down. Lighting in the parking lot is horrid. If I were a women I wouldn't be caught after dark out side. Lighting is sporadic and you can t see that well. Considering the area you would expect allot more the bang for the buck is not there. There have been reports of break-ins, even though the cops do patrol through the complex. One other thing about the parking. Some people can't park, so you will probably have to rent a garage which will cost you another 90 a month additional to your rent. At this price point go find a house. I'm counting the days I move out, I can t wait!!! Oh by the way one other interesting note management has changed twice since I have lived there.

About the parking issue, apparently you didn't read the notice that came around about 2 months ago about getting a parking sticker. If you check with Jason at the office and I've seen this myself, if you don't have a parking sticker, you are subject to being towed and I've seen vehicles towed left and right over the past couple of months. Go get a parking sticker from Jason. I have one and have never had a problem parking. I've lived at the complex for 3 years now and have never had a problem other than a sprinkler leak. The smoking thing, that's just inconsiderate people, they smoke right outside my door and there's nothing I can do about that. The loud kids, there again, parents who don't care. I have friends in another unit in the complex and they have a single mom with 3 SMALL kids above them and they must run all day and all night long but yet she does nothing to stop it, she even lets them ride around in the yards on these motorized toy vehicles that tear up the grass! Gotta love lousy neighbors. I have a woman next door that insists on sitting on her patio yapping on her cell phone rather loudly until 2am most nights and it's right outside my bedroom window. There's no need to complain to the office because there's no one there at night that can actually prove she's doing it. The management has always been great, right there when I need them and has fixed situations I needed fixed involving maintenance and neighbor issues. Sounds like you're a little disgruntled with apartment living in general. News for ya - apartments are apartments, if ya don't like it and want things to go your way, buy a house because you'll never find an apartment complex that works the way you want it to work.

Ok first off you don???t have to be snappy. What I said is true and can be controlled provided management has the stones to do it. All I want is piece and quit when I???m trying to sleep. You know you come home from work or you???re trying to go to bed, and your neighbors are up all night banging around. Your correct by saying nothing can be done. Also you can call the Cary police about your yappy neighbor. The town ordnance says any noise over 50db is too loud, and I bet your neighbor is over that 50db mark. Also I bet this is management responding to my post because who else would respond so fast. The only person worth mentioning as far as management is concerned is Jason. He seems the only one to care about the people and there concerns. Speaking of parking stickers I asked for one and they were out. So if I get towed Preston Reserve will pay for the charge. I asked for the sticker when I gave up my garage. Don???t judge me, I???m not disgruntled with apartment living, and have no problem living in an apartment. I do have issues with management that doesn???t act. As far as people getting towed, where are they getting towed? Not in front of my building. I see people parked all over the place in that complex at night, and yes they even park on the newly painted yellow lines that say no parking. There no tow signs posted, oh and by the way if there is no one around to do any thing about your yappy neighbor who is doing the towing? Management does have the right to speak on behalf of others that live there, and that is the best method, because you never know a fight could break out and someone could go to jail. Management also has the right to enforce what they say if the complaints continue. Funny you didn???t comment on the break-ins which I find to be the most serious consern.

Just moved into Preston's Reserve in May '08.. At first, our unit reeked of urine (from previous tenant's dog, I'd assume). After a week or so of enduring, we had to complain. Initially, Jason came out to see for himself, then ordered the padding to be changed. That didn't work--in the end they changed out all of the carpeting. Which I thought mgmt handled very well.
So far, I see both good and bad points about the complex. The parking is ridiculous... we have a garage, so our 2 cars fit without a problem, but others seem to think that parking on the side of the road is PERFECTLY okay! They just need to be towed a couple to times to learn their lesson.. Mgmt should really try to enforce towing on those car blatantly ignoring the 'no parking' signs. The good part is that my part of the complex is fairly quiet, no kids whatsoever. My upstairs neighbors do have iron feet, but it's not excessive. Plus, we have introduced ourselves to them just in case something does go beyond normal apartment noise. However, we did have an incident where our neighbor decided to leave annoying notes on your door instead of direct communication. Needless to say, we ignored her request. One word of advice, passive-agression gets you no where. I say meet your neighbors and try some diplomatic measures.. if that doesn't work, then you can call them a *@#*$*%&.. ;)

I do agree with the original post here. When I first moved here in early 2008, I was surprised to find that the apartment I moved into had not even been cleaned since the last tenant had moved out. A simple walk-through by management would have been the professional and proactive way to handle this situation to ensure that a new resident would be happy with their new home. After informing the staff that the apartment would need to be cleaned, I began to notice that a lot of maintenance was also needed. I moved in during the winter, and the heat was broken. The water heater also was broken. This, as I'm sure you can imagine, was very upsetting after being sold on the idea that this was a "luxury apartment community." Not to "beat a dead horse" but I also agree with the other posts that the parking situation is atrocious. This could be a dangerous situation for women living in the complex who have to walk a long distance from their car to their apartment at night. I've lived in about 10 different apartment complexes over the years, and I must say that the management here does not act in a professional way when resolving issues. I will not name names, but I believe that the residents should be treated with respect rather than with contempt. Anyway- the bottom line is, with an economy like this every buck is important, so spend it wisely and move somewhere that will value you! Don't be taken advantage of by moving here!
