First, I want to let you know I have looked at other apartment complexes in the past and recently as I intend to move soon. The floor plan and pricing of these apartments is good but... The apartments are falling apart. The plumming is terrible.. in the past year there have been 3 bad leaks in the apartment above mine. The first resulted in a torrential downpour in my apartment, a huge puddle of water on the floor and huge moldy stains on the ceiling. The complex has done nothing but try to dry the carpet with a shop vacuum and a blower and paint over the stain on the ceiling. They did not replace the carpet even though it was under atleast an inch of standing water for more than 4 hours.. the leak was at night.. took them 4 hours to respond to the emergency number. The 2 other leaks were not as bad.. and luckily nothing of mine has been damaged yet. Both of the bedroom toilets have had leaking problems and it takes several requests to get them to fix anything. They were apparently installed incorrectly in the first place and cannot be fixed properly. They have made several "upgrades" to the buildings but it seems that everytime they do they have to fix problems with what they just fixed.. I will say that the current on site maintenance person is pretty good but he is not used to fix all problems and is constantly busy i'm sure.
Since I have been there management has changed 3 times.. most of the staff is poor though there is currently one good one.. and he is apparently the only one who knows what he is doing.
We have had ant and roach problems and have been informed that apparently the people that were suppose to be spraying for bugs were not actually doing their job.. this was suppose to be fixed, but we still have ants sometimes.
Noise, the floors and ceilings are quite thin. You can constantly here those above you. Far more than any apartment or condo I have been in... I run a fan at night to drown out this noise so I don't wake up. The walls are not quite as bad but they are not great.
The light in the kitchen seems to not get enough power sometimes and flickers like it has bad wiring.. The outside lights to the apartment and our stairs were off for several weeks despite visits to the office complaining about dark stairways at night.
There have been at least 2 major incidents in the building next to mine involving the police.. about 5 cars each time.. thats alot of cops. You may want to check with Cary police about incidents at the complex before you sign a lease. The clientel seems to be drifting toward the seedier side and there have been several acts of vandalism at the complex since i've moved in.. Recently someone has been leaving their garbage out in the parking lot.. not in bags mind you..
We are on our 2nd garbage disposal which now sounds like it is trying to chew up titanium steel anytime you turn it on..(it worked great for like a week).
The complex has just recently been repainted and the parking lots resurfaced. The rental office and club houses have just been redone.. though they looked fine before.. perhaps it would have been beneficial to the tenants to use this money to actually fix the major problems in the buildings.. but thats the way this place works.
