They say that the practice of good customer service is dying; in the case of the Stratford it is in an advanced state of decay.

The apartment itself is great and I love my neighbors, but I will leave because I can not tolerate the management of the community.
Rarely do I call the leasing office with questions or concerns, but when I do I am made to feel like a nuisance. Thats when I can actually get someone on the phone. Generally, it takes at least three hours for someone to pick up the phone (I gave up leaving messages when I realized they dont check them regularly if at all). My main concern is the attitude of the community manager, the other employees in the office have been decent. Residents should never be made to feel their issues are trivial and unimportant. When I renewed my lease I had to contact a lawyer so they would acknowledge, in writing, I had paid the pet fee. More recently, I was expecting a package and when a month passed and I still had not received it I contacted the company to see if there was a delay. They responded stating it was delivered 25 days prior and sent me the tracking information. There wasnt a delivery note on my door at any point so I began attempting to contact the leasing office at 1pm, Lydia answered at 3pm. I asked if my package was there, it was, and then followed up with the simple question why wasnt I notified that it was in the office' to which she responded we dont have time to do that type of thing. [This is not a statement that should EVER come out of someones mouth dedicated to customer service] So I said its been there almost a month, obviously I was not aware it had been delivered. At which point she told me that it had not been there that long so I cited the tracking information from UPS. Then she began to blame UPS for not putting a note on my door (which they do not do if someone signs for the delivery). At that point she began to get defensive, raise her voice, and talk over me whenever I tried to say something. It is this general lack of professionalism and concern that makes me uncomfortable calling the Stratford home.

I have to agree that the manager is a nightmare. When I spoke with her recently to complain about noise from a neighbor who blares music constantly, she was rude and curt with me. Her response was, "I've already sent them a letter asking them to keep their music turned down. The only other thing I can do is evict them, and I'm not going to do that just because you say so."

My husband told me that there was yet another new temp in the office when he went there to pay our rent a few days ago, and that there was talk of a new manager. I hope that the grumpy witch Lydia has been replaced by someone with a more customer-service oriented attitude.

it is not the responsiblity of the management office to notify you you of a package delivery, it is the shipper's. multiply you x the number of apartments, say 300 if she spent all her time calling around to tenanats with packages, and she neglected somthing else, you would complain about that too, you are not the only person in the world.

I trust what the unhappyrenter9070 said. It was very clear that the ...tiredofyourcomplaining came from someone in the rental office. If they are not happy with their jobs and want to treat people nasty, they should go work for the people who pick up trash or clean out the drainage pipes under the city sewage...cockroachs don't care how they are treated, cause they are going to be here when we are ALL gone!

i am an ex-tenant by only about 2 weeks and i have to agree that the management is quite up to par. i had issues in the past with them acussing me of doing thing (leaving trash on my porch multiple times) when there was no way that i could have done this and then threatening to not accept the rent check i had dropped off b/c i didn't pay a stupid fee for something that i didn't do. along those lines also is the fact that the one time i was guilty of leaving trash on my porch, instead of doing like a normal business would do and asking me to stop verbally or with a written warning, they posted a bill for 25 bucks on my door. this is the type of thing that makes customers angry, and as i told the people in the office, if you would have just asked me the problem would have been solve, but when you slap a bill on my door for the first offense of something i'm gonna get angry and yell.
all in all i have to say that a major reform is in need for this appt. complex and it needs to start from the top down.

you guys are funny- one is mad because he could not find his package and another is mad because she left trash outside her door and got busted!
This is obviously complaints from people who did not get their way!
