Move out was a pain

I have read through some of the others postings and would like to follow those up with a "Renter Beware" The move out process they have in place at Alta Springs does NOT favor the renter. The last post says if they do not have proof you do not have to pay, that is a false statement. I was charged for new carpet AFTER having the walk through and being told the apartment was fine. I had moved away to FL and then the bill came. Alta Springs could not produce photos, the old carpet or padding, or any other proof of damange. Alta Springs is run by TCR - Trammell Crow Residential, which is one of the largest apartment owners in the US. So when they bill you, they have the ability to send you to collection without proof of damage. All they need is proof the work was done (i.e. a bill from carpet company). I agree with the post below that Alta Springs was not a bad place to live, but not any better then the other complexs in the area, so you are probably better off moving somewhere less shady with their move-out process.
