We relocated from Southern Durham (the city, this is still in Durham County a few hundred feet outside of city of Chapel Hill) 8 months ago and are satisfied. In SouthPoint Crossing, we did not feel safe but this more secure due to the location, rather close to UNC Hospitals. We had a two bedroom at Southpoint and signed a lease for two bedroom plus unattached garage here. We decided to upgrade and move early to a three bedroom 'flat' with attached garage. Office staff and maintainance are good as are grounds. These 'condos' are set apart from the main 1,2,3 bedroom area. Here the parking is easy (like in your own garage plus overflow/visitor's lot) but it can be difficult in the main area. It's dog friendly (maybe too friendly, but we have one). Enclosed porch even on ground floor. Close enough to Meadow Mont to jog down nd use their trails.
On the minus side, the pool is more of a party pool (we like that actually but you cannot swim laps) with grills (that area being rebuilt now), heat pumps are marginal quality (that said, the power bills are actually less than for our previous 2 bedroom apartment...windows are good quality) and the weak side of the kitchenettes are the cabinets which are strong enough but have door laminant that can peel (call maintainance). Washer/Dryer supplied with rent. Exercise room (I am a geezer and just walk outside) was degrading but now rebuilt. Dual bay car wash is closed due to water restrictions as of this writing (Durham County water).
A slightly better complex in the area is Meadow Mont, very close but in Chapel Hill and $200 more per month for same area. Very large pool, however.
