Nice area, iffy apartments

Parking isn't that bad, but that depends on what end of the complex you're living in.
The area is very quiet, and very pretty. Walking paths are close-by.
The grounds themselves are nothing special. One pool, rather small, and that's it really. The neighborhood it's located within is very nice though. Close to two main highways. Right in-between UNC and Duke. Lots of restaurants and shopping.
Very safe neighborhood. I've never had to worry about anything out here. More lighting would be nice though.
The apartments are old, and the insulation is horrible. Electricity costs will be high during the winter. The wiring throughout the apartment is very poor. It's very sound proof though, I never hear my next door neighbors. Hot water is limited though, all year round. Don't take long showers.
Maintenance people are very nice and very prompt. I've never had an issue with them.
The office staff is hit or miss. They change personnel constantly, so three months down the line you'll see someone new. 50% of the time they aren't in the office, so it's hard to keep track of them, and it always happens when you have an issue that needs resolving.
Overall, I'll recommend it. For the size and location, it can be a good deal. But, I'd only recommend these apartments if you came in during one of their specials. If they're asking for more than $650, then pass.
