A Realistic Review
From: -Anonymous-Date posted: 4/17/2007
Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2007
I have been living at Bradford Place for about 3 years now. I'll be honest, the places are falling apart. Even the "newest" apartments or town homes are in terrible condition. They are currently selling the town homes so the only thing that is left are the 1 and 2 bedrooms. There is also a neighborhood community being built down the street that may offer additional room but that isn't here yet(4/2007).
Parking is undesirable at the apartments. The townhomes don't have a problem.
The walls are extremely thin and the residents are touchy about noise. If you play music at all. be expecting a few written warnings if you stay here.
The Grounds are kept up well. Not much grass to upkeep but I have to say, for a pet owner or for someone that just likes to take walks, you can't beat this "community". The apartments are like leech to the bradford place homes. Be expected to have a few of the residents treat you as such but generally it is a beautiful community.
The places do have the potential for security systems. I filled out the forms to have mine hooked up but they never did anything. This will be reflected in the maintenance I guess. There were also a few break ins during my time there so be careful about your vehicles.
Like I mentioned earlier, the construction is the worst. The places are literally rotting. I think they must have a termite problem or something because the wood on the exterior is decaying. The carpets are generally ruined and just don't expect fancy because anything you can think of regarding sturdiness of the place is in disrepair.
Maintenance is a tough situation. The one guy that fixes things does a good job. He is terribly over worked. Of course that isn't an excuse. Expect to have 80% of your requests ignored. He will be there to fix something major so don't worry about that but if you are picky in any way shape or form, you will be completely annoyed.
My largest complaint is the staff. I know you hear this at a lot of places. Unlike other places, they aren't out to take your money which is a plus. They won't fine you at the end for no apparent reason. Probably because the places are in such disrepair. On the other hand, the staff doesn't serve much of a purpose. They hire these temp people to "run" the office. These temp people have one job only. To refer you to the one person that knows anything. She only works like 1 or 2 days a week. So realize that the staff is only there as a placeholder and for no other purpose. They are so clueless about everything.
Overall, it's a good place for people that want a cheap place to rent and want to be left alone. The neighborhood is gorgeous. If you want more than this or you would like to have people over "EVER", then this probably isn't the place for you. It is just decaying and you won't be successful in slowing the decaying process. I expect the community to only get worse once the town homes are sold so expect each mark to go down one in the next year. odusyNYCcZ7yL3Bj5JtG
