When I started living here at Bradford Place I was really happy with my experience. Unlike my last apartment, parking was great - no permits needed, ample space for guests. I rarely heard anything from the neighbors in my building. The issues I started out with (that didn't bother me that much) were: the building is older and the way the cabinets were made are aggravating; my stove didn't cook anything evenly; and there were tons of centipedes that the old management actively helped me combat by sending exterminators a few times. The management was great and sent the maintenance man the day or day after I called about an issue. The lady was sweet and did everything in her power to help me out - even waived the pet fee and had in-depth friendly conversations with me about my kitten.
Unfortunately Bradford Place has changed management and things have quickly gone downhill. My door became warped and hard for anyone to open, close, or lock (to the point that I was 15 minutes late to work because I couldn't lock my outside door). It took several calls to the office over a few weeks to get someone to come out and fix it. The same situation repeated when I called about my stove - six times over several weeks - for them to come out and "fix" the problem. They replaced the stove pans twice and the stove eyes once, none of which fixed the way they cooked. I asked to get a stove like the one in the office and they informed me that they weren't putting new stoves in any of the rental apartments. So they finally gave me a different old stove and didn't install it properly. It now rocks back and forth. The final straw that made me want to get out of this apartment was when a pipe going to my water heater burst. I called four times and my mom called once before the maintenance came to fix it (at 10 pm the next night, 28 hours after my first call). In the meantime my utility room and kitchen turned into a lake and my living room and dining room carpet became squishy. They had to turn off my water for a day so they could rip out the ceiling to get to the broken pipe. This experience finalized my decision to move out as soon as my lease ends. It was helped by the constant construction that's been going on for months. The outside of the apartment looks great, but at the expense of my sleep and the once-peaceful atmosphere.

*UPDATE*
The maintenance situation has gotten even worse. When coming home after New Year's I found that I had no hot water or heat. It took *5 days* for them to get my hot water back on (two days of this I waited on some part to fix the water heater which evidently wasn't even necessary) and now, 6 days later, I *still have no heat.* In January! This is beyond ridiculous. Thankfully my mom berated the management into letting me out of my lease a few months early. I can't stand to be here anymore. As soon as I find a new place I'm out of this hell hole.

Totally agree. I had a similar problem with my water heater. It constantly leaked. I put towels on the floor to try and soak up the water but I constantly had to switch them out cuz they got soaked so fast. I put with this for over 3 weeks before maintenance came by to fix it. And of course they came by when I was at work even though I made it clear I didn't want anyone in my apartment when I was not home.
