Not the worst place in the world

I lived in Granville towers for two years. It definitely caters to a specific type of person, or what you knew of as "preps" in your high school. There's a lot of skinny white people and a lot of alcohol. As far as the general facility, I found it to be pleasing. I liked sharing a bathroom with only three other girls as opposed to the dorms on campus where I would have had to share with a number of other girls. It made life a little bit easier. And the elevators always worked, which was nice. Also, the location is awesome. I would suggest an entrance/exit to the parking lot behind the buildings (on Cameron) because the only entrances are on Franklin St. and on festival/parade days there was no way to get anywhere in your car. But it was only a 10/15 minute walk to most of my classes and main campus, and it was right there on Franklin St. I did find that they liked to restrict freedom also - Halloween and other big holidays you couldn't bring guests in if they weren't on a special list, and I don't remember the exact condition but a friend couldn't eat with me in the Agora unless they paid maybe 7 or 8 bucks. I couldn't just swipe them in no matter how many meals I had left. But I did enjoy eating down there, especially during the off hours, it was very relaxing and a heck of a lot closer than hiking it to Lenoir. I never had a problem with parking, but after paying as much as I did for a parking pass, that is what I expected out of them. I did find like other reviewers have said that the staff seems a little stuck up. If you're not particularly friendly with them, or in on their little circle, then forget asking for anything. Maintenance worked well for me except for this one time when we had submitted multiple times for a hole in the ceiling in the bathroom. Finally, we were fed up and submitted it as an urgent problem. We got a maintenance guy up there, finally, but only to yell at us. At least he fixed it while he was bitching. Overall, I would recommend this for you if you're the right type of person. These are stuck up, rich, party people, and you know who you are. I don't particularly regret living there, but I definitely don't regret moving into an apartment instead this year.
