I lived here my freshman and sophmore years at Carolina and overall, wasn't that impressed. Although the majority are freshman, the entire rest of the freshman class is on south campus so it is much harder to get close with them. Although in the past few years Granville residents have become less homogonized, there are still a great deal of fraternity/sorority people with a lot of daddy's money to spend. The price to park here is OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive and the general cost to live here is about 700 a month compared to 400 on campus--are you eating $300 worth of food a month at the Agora' I think not. And be aware, your actual room will NOT look as nice as the model room. My shower had mold in it for the entire year...they said "We could have someone remove it but it would just come back because people take hot showers then close the doors." They never tried to remove the mold. If they removed the mold once and the housekeeping actually did an adequate weekly clean, it wouldn't be a problem. There is no where for guests to park, period. The AC isn't all that great in East or West and South, being the oldest, has had more than one leak problem. At least there is AC tho...I agree with the earlier post: granville's focus is BUSINESS not COMUNITY or people. For example, every Wednesday people could eat at the Agora for $5 and all sorts of weird people were there making the lines long and seating hard to find. Good money maker, but the Agora is not a public restaurant. One more thing, the walls are PAPER thin and you can hear EVERYTHING from your neighbors and the activity in the hallway. Also, if you like to drink, Granville is well known for being slack about it...

Positive side:
-P2P stops in the parking lot and so at night you have a way to south campus.
-excellent location to Franklin St. and campus
-guarenteed air conditioning
-The Agora has pretty good food, but gets old just like everything off. Quality falls off by the end of the semester tho, but picks up at the very end when they have people coming to look at the place.

--It was an okay experience overall, but that was mostly because I had an awesome roommate. Good luck!
