Not too bad but needs some changes

Years at this apartment: 2001 - 2003
The two years I spent here have been enjoyable although there were times when I disliked living here.
The pluses.
1. Really close to UNC.
2. Excellent buslines.
3. Trail at the rear of the property makes walking or biking to UNC quick and safe. 4. Relatively nice surroundings lots of trees.
5. Haven't had a pest problem at all in a year and a half.
The Minuses
1. Parking can be a hassle.
2. Students tend to get loud.
3. Fixtures, windows, and cabinets need remodeling/replacing.
4. W/D connections only in some of the townhouses but none of the apartments.
5. Only one centrally located laundry facility which for some reason has no hot water and no change machine.
6. It seems like they stop taking care of the pool halfway through the summer. Non-Residents come from other complexes/neighborhoods to swim and play tennis. This is especially annoying when you the renter would like to enjoy either facility and can't because a non-resident is using them.
7. The pool area could use bathrooms since most of the units are not near the pool.
All in all I believe Laurel Ridge deserves a better rating than 2.4/5. Before renting I looked at both Kingswood and here and the choice was obvious. They are beginning to completely remodel the units and they will look nice however the rent is going to go up accordingly.
