i've lived in laurel ridge for almost 2 years now and the experience has been ok. the positives:
my apt. is huge for the money. i looked into moving but found that what i pay for a 2 bedroom is the same i would pay for a small 1 bedroom.
it is close to campus so you can walk if you want to or the bus ride is short
most of the neighbors are great
the negatives:
catching the bus requires risking your life in the morning to get to the stop across 54
my neighbor's apt was broken into and a car was broken into right in the parking lot
had a leak in my wall that took days for the maintenance to rip out and then had a huge hole in my wall for at least 2 months
depending where you live, you get to listen to traffic on 54
in summary, you get what you pay for. it's fine for the money. i've lived in worse and paid more.
