The people who wrote about getting towed all the time are crazy. If you follow the rules, keep your tags current, park where you're supposed to, and keep your parking permit hanging from your mirror, you wont get towed. I've lived here 6 months and I've had absolutely no problems with this complex except occasionally I get a broken washing machine or dryer when I go to the laundromat, but it's always fixed the next time I go. I do wish they had apartments with washer/dryer connections in them so I didn't have to deal with the laundromat.
As far as safety goes, I live alone with my 2 year old daughter, and I've not had any problems. My car has been safe, nobody's stolen gas from me, my tires haven't been slashed, nobody's broken into my apartment or anything that anyone else has written.
The management is friendly, and they exterminate once a month so you dont get lots of bugs.
Honestly, the only other place in chapel hill cheaper than this is Estes Park, and it's in much worse condition than Pinegate, and being this close to Durham, what exactly is everyone expecting' If you want luxury, go live at Evergreens at Mt. Moriah. If you want cheap, you live at Pinegate.
