Although the Southern Village community is a pleasant place to live, especially with the convenience of Weaver St. Market, etc., the apartment community here is substandard. Supposedly built in 1998, the fixtures and appliances in the units prove that they are much older or were reconstructed from another older apartment complex. Most importantly, the management staff will not get off their AS*ES and do their jobs to solve resident problems. I actually had to switch units to a different building after a 2 month-long ant infestation, beginning THE DAY I moved in, was not handled properly or ever resolved by the staff or their exterminator! Now in this building, my neighbors' small children play out in the parking lot, screaming every day, and play on the stairway, running up and down and screaming all afternoon. Despite being a direct violation of the Community Rules we signed to move in, the office staff refuses to disallow their children's inappropriate behavior! (I have tried to speak to the neighbors kindly, but there is a significant language barrier) Do Not Get Stuck in a Lease Here!!! I would leave now if I could!
