We moved into a two bedroom apartment in June. We have had a couple of management issues that were fixed without problem immediately (namely they replaced the toilet seat and left something loose which was then fixed as soon as we noticed a problem and called). It is a pet friendly neighborhood (we have two cats) with a "pick up after your dog" policy. There is a deposit for pets which seems fair. So far the management has been polite to us. We have had no bug or infestation problems -please note this is North Carolina and it is hot, if you leave windows or doors open or food lying around in the kitchen something is bound to wander in. While there is a mix of people from all ages and nationalities here, so far our neighbors are decent hardworking people who are respectful of us. Weaver market is convenient, we love the outdoor movies on weekends and the fact that we have a gym, bookstore, three restaurants, dentist and other services within walking distance. Our lease came with a special sale, if we break the lease early we will have to pay the difference between the special price and the regular price. This was made clear to us when we signed the lease. We do not feel that we have been misled into anything. There are two bus lines into Chapel Hill (except for weekends) from there you can connect with the TTA system to Durham, RTP and Raleigh. However, you will probably need the car if you won't be working in Chapel Hill since the bus system does take a while. Vanpools are always an option if you want to save money on gas, be environmentally friendly or don't want to buy a second car. There are also zipcars in Chapel Hill. Parking hasn't been a problem for us. We always find it and have had no problems with security. So far we are very happy here.
