Wasn't Worth It For Us

When we first moved in to Sunstone, we loved it. It's in a nice area with trees, there's lots of stuff close by, our apartment was spacious with decent windows, etc. Everything was fine for a year. Then in the middle of summer, our AC broke twice. We had a very difficult time getting this fix. The maintanance guy would tell us again and again either that there was nothing really wrong, or that the problem was different than what it actually was. They kept promising to fix it (when they weren't saying it was fine in the first place), but it took a week and a half before the problem was resolved. In the meantime, our thermostat showed our apartment was at 98 degrees - and it could have been hotter, but this is as high as the thermostat could even show. My roommate and I had to find other places to sleep in this time as the high temperature made our place simply unbearable. We also were infested with ants, despite living on the third floor and keeping a clean apartment. Other things in our apartment broke down. Maintanance was very unhelpful in resolving any of these pronlems. The office managers were nice, but couldn't really help.

The person above the office managers was incredibly unsympathetic and unhelpful. She has no customer service skills nor any inclination to gain such skills. She alone is enough reason to avoid Sunstone like the plague. Also, the company that owns the complex is one you don't want to get entangled with if you're having problems with your living situation.

The good news is that apparently another company bought out Sunstone, so maybe they will run things differently - better. I hope so, beacuse its a complex with a lot of potential to be a great place. However, while we were there, things broke down a lot with out getting fixed in a timely manner, if at all, and they did not employ nearly enough help to address the many maintenance issues they were having. The higher ups were people you don't want to mess with. I've seen the one woman who works there be extremely rude to a potential tenant as well. Be very, very careful if you choose to live here. Submit all maintenance requests in writing, and look over your contract carefully. The last few months there were hellish for my roommate and I. qmzu4EHcaGAPVCPw2Fai
