Never got my security deposit back.

All bad reviews on Sunstone remind me of the bad move-out experience I had a year ago. They stole my security deposit!
Because I am a foreign student, my security deposit was about $400. That's fine. Because I believed that I could get back the whole deposit upon moving out.
The apartment was really in a neat condition when I moved out (just normal wear and tear). I vacuumed thoroughly before I left and trusted the Sunstone staff that they would do a honest move-out inspection without me. (I was out of town for a week right after my move-out.) By two months after my move-out, I heard nothing from them regarding the deposit. I visited the office several times, and asked about my deposit return. In the first visit, even Jose (who was responsible for this) was not aware that he mistakenly hadn't notified anything to me.
They asked me to come back a few days later, and in the second visit, told me that my carpet was bleached badly, so they had to replace the whole carpet and it costed them more than five hundred dollars, so they told me, in fact I owed them more than hundred! But, since they said they were very generous and they would not charge me the additional hundred dollars. (BUT I SAW THEM TALKING WITH THEIR DOOR CLOSED IN FRONT OF ME AND STARING AT ME THROUGH THE WINDOW FROM TIME TO TIME) I was furious about their rudeness and asked them about the evidence such as photo or whatever. (I knew it was a silly idea but even a forged photo would have made me feel better...) Then they asked me back "THEN WHAT'S YOUR EVIDENCE THAT THE CARPET WAS CLEAN'"
I was so upset and was almost about to sue them but at that my time school life became very busy, so I just regarded that I WAS ROBBED FOR A BAD LUCK; DON'T WASTE MY TIME.
So the best recommendation from me is that
BE SURE TO BE THERE WHEN THE STAFF DOES THE INSPECTION.
