My wife and I lived here during her time at UNC. We lived in the complex for about two and a half years. The location was perfect for school and was right next to the bus line and that is where perks end. When we first moved in, we did not receive the unit we had requested and been put on a waiting list. We reserved a 2 bedroom 2 bath 1 year earlier that way we could make sure we at least had what we wanted when it came time to move in. When we got there they told us they didn't have one available and gave us what they had. We were already there we took what we could, wasn't that big of a deal. When we first opened the door to take a look at the place the carpet was soaking wet, the dining room had a big red stain all over the carpet, the tile in the bathroom had a burn hole from what looked like to be a cigarette had been left lying on the floor and the master bedroom door had a huge hole in it and the complex tried to cover it up by just throwing some white paint over the hole(lazy'). The cabinet door over the sink in the kitchen was hanging off like it had been broken before and someone made a half-ass attempt at pouring wood glue on it to fix that break. Those were the main difficulties when we first moved in. There were many other small things through-out our time here I can not list.
One more major issue we had was with our A/C. Through the 2 summers that we stayed there our A/C didn't even work! They would attempt to fix it, say they gave us a new A/C unit and thermostat and eventually I guess they just gave up because they ended up putting this loud,leaky portable unit in our dining room window with this pretty Grey tape all over our windows for the entire summer.
The staff were generally rude ALL THE TIME. The apartment manager, I can't remember her name something like ------ or something --------, is the rudest person I have ever met. I don't know how they do it up North but you don't talk to people they way you do especially if you are some sort of "manager". I think you need to reevaluate your life and realize people are spending their money on your complex and helping pay your salary. We had a few run-ins with her and it seems as though when they can't find a solution to a problem they decide to just send you a fine on your door and threaten to evict you. The best part about this complex is the Maintenance staff. They were very nice and the only ones who seemed liked they cared. You should make the them in charge of the complex I'm sure they would do a better job.
All in all, if you like a complex where they blame you for everything, fine you for no reason and just you love being yelled at by the manager of the complex, by all means I would suggest living here. If not, its worth it to find somewhere else to stay.
