I was unfortunate enough to have a breezeway apt. And you CAN hear everything. But this was not hard for us because we had a very inconsiderate upstairs neighbor that would rollerblade in her breezeway at 11am on a Saturday, which just happened to be right above my head. Plus, the police always seemed to be called on her, so we were privy to some unwanted drama. We had a very severe millipede problem.

Basically, the person with the review from 1/29/04 said it perfectly. Our heat pump was broken in January--we found out because we got a $90 elec bill from having the heat run constantly--and they sent me a letter saying that we were wrong. That our heat pump was fine. Then later the same day they said it WAS broke and they were replacing it. And they do take every cent they can. They are very shady about it. I had to pay an extra $100 rent the one time I was late--and I was only late by one hour. You don't get your security deposit back, even if you have the place spotlessly cleaned.

I found out rats were living in my walls in an apartment in Pittsburgh a couple years ago, and I have to say that even that wasn't as bad as Walden at Greenfields. We had dead millipedes in our clothes, in my fiance's and my motorcycle helmets (MMMM, yum!). And to top it all off, one of the illiterate neighbors we had left 2 notes on our motorcycle telling us that we had it illegally parked on the sidewalk. Which was untrue because we specifically asked the office where it could be parked legally. And they said it was fine to park it where we had it. It's not worth it to live in a place where you're surrounded by snobs, or busybodies or just plain stupid idiots--and this includes the staff and maintenance.
