So my girlfriend, my 6 year old son, and I lived at Walden at Greenfields in Chapel Hill NC for two and a half years. We always paid are bills on time and were considerate tenants. The last year we suffered busted pipes, ant infestations, and a terrible case of mold, all of which were dealt with in a half-a## way by the apartment management. Maintenance was in and out of our apartment for 3 weeks at one point, repeatedly knocking holes in out walls to deal with plumbing and mold. We came home one afternoon to an ant party the day after pest control allegedly sprayed, and recieved a lecture from management about what to do with our cerael and coffee-sugar. We had to fight for a week for $50 compensation. They talk nice to your face, then stick you in the back. Not only have we not received our security deposit back (3 months later) but they have charged us for 1) a waterbill that Alliance Data (water company) says they ALREADY PAID with OUR SECURITY DEPOSIT, 2) nail holes (0.60 cents each)= $60.00 and 3) steamcleaning of carpets = $85.00. Sadly, we do not have the financial recources to take them to court over these slanderous business practices, but I hope you at least take our experience to heart and NEVER LIVE HERE!!!
