This apartment complex is a disgrace to Charlotte. I am a full-time student at UNCC and I tell every parent I know who has kids that are planning on going to UNCC to never let them live here. I signed a two bedroom lease and when the day came to move in I was excited to get my keys and they let me know that I would be moving in to a four bedroom until my two bedroom was available. Had I known that it was going to take three and a half months for them to prepare my two bedroom I would of tried to get out of my lease on the very spot. Not only did the management move my roommate and myself in to a four bedroom they moved us in a four bedroom that was already being lived in. So, the day I moved in it was with two random people I didn't know who let us know that another boy was living there too (I am a girl as well as my roommate FYI) So...three people already living in a four bedroom one person legally NOT suppose to be there. The apartment was so dirty it took weeks to get them to finally clean the carpet which had cigarette burns, dog poop (did I mention a house-trained dog was living there...only he wasn't house trained'') mud, bleach spots, red spots probably from throw up allll over the floor. From May to the middle of August I was in the wretched four bedroom and then was moved in the middle of August to a two bedroom. This apartment was a lot cleaner MINUS THE CARPET. We had moved everything in and then they decided to send someone to clean the carpet. We had to move everything as close to walls as possible so they could use a wet vac. A month later they CHANGED THE LOCKS ON THE DOORS. This was an inconvenience because we were not aware. This was a huge to-do. My roommate got to the apartment noticed she couldn't get in and had to go back to the office to get another key. It took them two times to get my key right. 3 months later I decided to get a cat and they made me pay the full 250 dollar deposit that people who sign a years lease have to pay for their animal deposit and I had 5 more months on my lease! They didn't pro-rate it, which any other apartment complex who is properly managed would do. My roommate was given a contract to sign saying she didn't mind the cat, which she signed only a day later she went to the apartment office and said she wanted to take it back. THEY LET HER! What kind of apartment complex doesn't follow their own contracts they print out!'!! By this point I was livid. My parents got involved once this arouse. Clearly she signed a contract and should have been the one to move. NO. The apartment complex made me move. This would be my second time moving. We tried everything we could do to get out of the rest of my lease but they wouldn't have it. Corporate said that every time I sent in a request, whatever it was I requested was either fixed or taken care of. They moved me in to a four bedroom with a random girl, who I've gotten to really love only we both hate the apartment we are in. (Still paying two bedroom rent which is more four bedroom rent WHILE LIVING IN A FOUR BEDROOM) It gets better...I went home 3 days before Christmas and Christmas night I came back to the apartment because I had to work at 5am the day after Christmas to a flood in the kitchen! My roommates bathroom was flooded, our cabinets that we keep some of our dishes in had water EVERYWHERE the cups were filling up with water, there was a huge hole in the ceiling that was dripping all over the place. It took 2 hours for the 24 hour on site staff to come and fix this. When he came to fix it, it literally looked around...walked out...came back 30 minutes later and said that it was the ice maker on the 3rd floor. He told me he turned their ice maker off but didn't even help me clean up the mess. I was alone on Christmas night cleaning up 3 inches of water which by the way left stains on the wall, wet carpet and a huge mess in the kitchen! I was concerned about mold and they told us that it had already been checked. Ha. I doubt that, no one has ever came in here to check for mold. There are bugs in this apartment. Roaches that come in because people leave out their trash on the balcony's. If you read in your contract you should be fined for leaving trash on your balcony's...no one ever is. The management is young, uneducated on their jobs, and really just do not care. DO NOT LIVE HERE! I'll be glad to talk to anyone who is thinking about it because this isn't even everything that has gone wrong. REALLY...DO NOT LIVE HERE, LET YOUR FRIENDS LIVE HERE, YOUR FAMILY LIVE HERE, or EVEN YOUR ENEMIES LIVE HERE!
