Yo!

Better than other Condos or Apts I've lived in

Years at this apartment: 2002 - 2003

I've read the other 5 reviews and can see valid points on both sides. Here are my observations...

1. The staff is great to work with.
2. When we've complained about neighbors leaving garbage in the hallway for several days, the staff addressed it the same day that we finally complained. (We would count the days that the bags sat there--7 days! We should have complained sooner.
3. Neighbors can be sometimes loud (TV, Playstation, Music). This can be bothersome at times, but is not unreasonable to deal with.
4. The view out the apartment is great! It is all trees, only in winter can we see another building. (Well, OK, the 2nd bedroom looks directly out at another building-but that is the only one.)
5. Staff is willing to collect our mail, newspaper and feed pets during long weekends getaways!!
6. At least 2 corporate housing units in our the building--this means fewer neighbors! And when some one is there, they are professional, adults who know how to behave and just need a place to sleep when not at the office or looking for a home.
7. Parking has not been a problem. Sometimes I don't get "my" spot and have to walk 20 feet to the next parking are. No big deal. Some car break-ins have occurred, but if nothing valuable is in plain view--odds are no one will bother breaking in!
8. Another review talked about the dogs...In 12 months only one neighbor has had a barking dog-and that was corporate housing for 2 weeks. The staff sent out a memo about 3 months ago concerning leashes and cleaning up...Every dog I've seen since then has been on leash and owners are carrying bags. Bags and garbage cans are also provided in a few grassy areas throughout the complex.
9. If I could change 1 thing: Energy efficiency! In the winter it can be very cold and the heat is always one...And in the winter the AC runs more than anyplace I've lived. Highest electric bill: $145. A new central air unit and better insulation would be great...but it is just an apartment. The company doesn't have to pay those bills...
10. The dumpster and recycling are often over-flowing. Ususally this is the fault of my neighbors...People don't put stuff where it belongs and try to recycle the wrong things.
11. Having lived in hotels, condos, houses and apartments since college (14 years ago), this is among the best places to live. The staff is great, the area is clean, pool/gym/clubhouse are nice, parking is easy, and the "seclusion" of the nearby trees is great. As long as I'm in Charlotte, I will probably live here.
12. Rent is higher than I've paid previously, but I use and enjoy what I get much more.
13. At least 2 memos have been sent to everyone concerning paying rent on time. Financially, times are difficult for most people. But rent is an obligation--act like an adult. If you are having trouble, contact the office and let them know. Don't just simply not pay rent and hope that no one will notice. When I got that 2nd notice, I had to ask what kind of deadbeats were living around here' Part of what I liked when I moved in was that it was pricier than other apartments in the area and would not attract the student/party crowd (which I've never seen here). I still think that it is a good value! But if you think money may be an issue, keep looking for something more reasonable. This applies to everything that you buy, not just an apartment!

It is an apartment, there are way too many people living in a small area not to have any problems.

If you move in:
Will you have parking issues' probably not, but maybe..
Will you have noisy, messy neighbors' probably not, but maybe...

I'm glad that we moved in last year...
