My roommate and I moved in Nov 2007. So far, there has be 5 apartments on the ground floor broken in and everything of value stolen. That are doing renovations and the construction crew is rude. They have all new office staff and property manager in which the property manager doesnt seem to care if you have a problem or not. She is very rude and unprofessional. The rest of the office staff follows in her footsteps. The maintenance crew is the only best part of this property. I live on the ground floor and am afraid of getting chairs for my patio because am afraid someone will steal them. As far as "security" at night goes.. they have a security guard from a company who doesnt patrol half the night to begin with. There are no police cars patrolling the complex at night either. I had to call the police twice to come out because I saw someone trying to break in a car in the parking lot. I asked if they patrol the area and the officer said no they dont unless they are specifically looking for someone. To be in the southpark area I expected alot more from this property for the price I am paying. Again the property manager is rude and seems not to care about any resident issues or complaints. I am moving as soon as my lease is up!

I was the first of the five to have my apartment burglarized. I have to say that during the ordeal: 1. Maintenance came out and secured my apartment before the police arrived. 2. Management transferred me to another apartment free of charge. I feel somewhat responsible for the break-in because I was the one who left an HDTV box on my patio. I can also say that: 1. Thanks to $6 per month in renters insurance I now have a nicer TV and Laptop than I started with! 2. I just found out that management is installing monitored alarms in every apartment next week! It seems like they care to me! 3. I lived in a gated, patrolled community in North Charlotte and had my car burglarized. I would like to know where you plan on moving in Charlotte that you will be "safe". Face it; you???re a big boy or girl who lives in a big city. You???re going to be exposed to things that your mommy, management and law-enforcement can't protect you from. It's time that you realize that you are responsible for your own safety and you aren't safe from crime anywhere. I was going to move when my apartment was burglarized. But I looked around and I found no place that guaranteed me that nothing would happen to me. And I also found no place that was quite as nice for the price as Alexander Place.

I will have to disagree with you as far as the comments you made about "growing up". i feel If I am paying as much as I am for a one bedroom apartment that the security should be excellent and the management and office staff should be nicer then what they are. I have lived in bigger cities in the middle of midtown and in a one bedroom apt in a house that had 5 apts in it and felt safer there then I do here. Granted they finally installed the Alarm system which is a diturent to break-in's but again these apts are not the cheapest and for you to say your mommy is not here to protect you thats just rude and ignorant. What if your apt was broken in again and you were there and got hurt from the person breaking into your apt. I think you would be saying a different story then. I would have to agree with the person who said the management staff is rude and does not care about you once you move into the apt. I have been here almost a year and have never had good customer service from anyone in the leasing office. I actually have called the regional office to speak with someone in reference to the poor customer service and rudeness from the office staff. I work hard for my money and am expected to pay my rent on time or get evicted. If I have an issue or maintenance problem I expected the issue to be taken care of in a timely manner, just as they expect the rent to be paid on time. I often wonder how they would feel if the rent did not get paid until a maintenace issue was taken care of in a timely manner. I guarantee you they would step it up and make sure the issue was taken care of right away in order to get rent paid on time. The rennovations are nice and the apartments look good, BUT I can hear my neighbor upstairs everytime she walks around and speaks on her phone, the installation in the apartments are not the best. So, in conclusion I would say that yes the apartments look very nice for the money you pay in rent, BUT the downside to it all is that the office and management staff are rude and uncaring and with all the other issues that you get when you rent and sign the lease... I would go elsewhere.

I have been searching through and through Charlotte apartments all night and to be fair, this one sounds the best. Seriously? You seem way too concerned about the rudeness of the management and office staff, but yet this one person says they took care of the robbery issue nicely. I doubt, given reviews to other places, that any other place would have been that nice about it. No offence but it seems stupid to complain about the management and office staff. What are they going to do, give your neighbor bothering you a "time out" session? All they can do is ask them to stop being noisy but thats the best they can do. and from someone who works in a customer service job, I can tell you that good customer service stems from good customers that don't yell and try to make the persons day a rotten one. I live in a house currently and am hoping to move into an apartment. It won't be much difference in the little noises of an old house were I can hear everything else in through the walls.
