Great place to live

I think people get on get on here and bash people in the leasing office and do not realize everything that goes into working with an apartment. I lived here from September until recently when I moved out of state, and I had a great experience with this company. They put a lot of money into these homes so that people will be comfortable when they move in. If you move into an apartment, you must realize that it is not your property. If it were your propert and you didn't have the money to fix a problem, I guarantee that you couldn't fix it until you did.
Don't get mad when things don't immediately get fixed. Sometimes it takes time to fix things. Everyone wants to know why their problem is not fixed immediately without taking into consideration their own position. People wants a call back. There's not enough time in the day for a call back. Everyone wants to be called before they enter your apartment. You should realize that you give up that right when you sign the lease. "I need someone to return my phone call to update me." Why do you need an update' Could you imagine if you went to your job and were told to do a task and every time you did a task you had to take 10-15 minutes before hand to "get approval"' Give me a break. Some people on this website are saying "It takes blah blah blah to fix a simple lightbulb." Do you really think that if it were as simple as replacing a light bulb, the company wouldn't do it' In fact, if it were that simple, and you are the one who continues to notice it, fix the thing yourself. We all know that's not plausible for everyone, but people need to take responsibility for where they live even if they don't own the place. For bigger issues, they usually require larger sums of money which isn't always available.
If you think A/C is vital to your life, just remember that in other countries people live in shacks with no running water. Stop complaining.

I have never lived in this complex. But really you must be kidding? People pay rent just SO things ARE fixed RIGHT AWAY!! That is PART of what you pay FOR. And if the complex can't keep up.... that means it's UNDER STAFFED. And they should address that issue.
I don't expect to wait for my appliances ect to be fixed while I pay to rent for WORKING ONES from my complex.

I do live in this complex and can tell you that the new management team is much better than the old one, but some room for improvement remains.
z.lantelme, your rant is simply illogical -- while I agree that people should take a degree of personal responsibility, you clearly do not understand why people choose to rent versus own. We are not living in some third-world country. Furthermore, judging from your passionate entry and seemingly first-hand knowledge of the finances, it sounds as if you had worked for Alexander Place before your departure. Now I understand why service over the past several months has been better than ever. Thank you for leaving.

Actually, the responses sounds like they are coming from current office staff right now!! Generally we you see this type of response that is exactly what it is.

Honestly, if you are paying rent for an apartment you are not just paying for a place to stay. If you were to go to a hotel room and something in your room didn't work would you stay in the room and just deal with it? NO, you would call and talk to the manager and continue to call until your situation was resolved. As a former renter at this apartment complex, I can say that the management at this complex made me feel like all I was worth to them was a rent check. The reason I had to follow up with them continually was because I first gave them 2 weeks to resolve me issues.. that means to either fix them or let me know when they would be fixed... after 2 weeks elapsed with no communication, I then called.. and waited 2 days for a response. After no response I began to call everyday until my issues were even looked at.
If you think that as a PAYING CUSTOMER you should just sit there and wait, because it takes time to take care of things, then you do not realize that the leasing staff is not in charge of you. YOU ARE THEIR CUSTOMER!!!! They MUST show you the respect you would demand from any other business out there.
As for calling ahead for approval to come into the apartment, yes, they do own the apartment buildings, but as a tennant it is my right to take a shower and to not have people key into my apartment while in the middle of a shower with no knowledge that people are coming over. It is NOT too much to ask to have some forewarning that someone is coming to your apartment. What if you have a Dog, do you want your dog locked up so it doesn't get to the people?
All I have to say about this apartment is that once you are in, they will not return your calls, or fix issues in a timely manner. When I called the Corporate Office I was given more of the same attitude that I had from the leasing office.. Unfortunately I think it is a corporate culture that will not be remedied by anything better than people staying away from their properties.
