My husband and I have lived here for a year and a half. Overall, I would say that I have mixed feelings about this complex. The layout of the apt buildings is very nice and homey. Landscaping is great and they go to great lengths all year long to keep it looking that way. We live in a downstairs apt and have only had a problem with noise once with someone playing music too loud and it was promtply taken care of. Most of my neighbors, those that I know, are friendly and courteous. The price is unbeatable for the amenities and size of the apts, believe me, we looked before we renewed our lease. The amenities are nice: pool, jacuzzi (that is broken frequently), lake, canoes, mtn bikes, access to the greenway, tennis court, small fenced in area for dogs, business center (but the computer is very frequently down and you can't print anything from it),and a workout room (small and old equipment). There is also a gate that is open during certain hours and closed during others. You must have a code. There have, however, been occurrances with people breaking through the gate, and it's broken pretty frequently. Other problems with the community include poor customer service. In my experience none of the staff has ever been rude but they do not return phone calls, do not get messages to maintenance in a timely manner, and do not respond to your concerns. A big issue with us is we have fealt increasingly unsafe here. This summer there was a shooting towards the front of the complex after a party in the clubhouse, and then about a month or so ago two residents were robbed and shot in our complex early in the morning. There has been one occasion that I know of where a car pushed through the closed gate and broke into several of the cars in the complex. I know that we, as well as some of our neighbors have asked on different occasions for better lighting in certain areas of the complex and were basically told no or have not had our calls returned. In our experience with the new manager, although she's not that new anymore, I did not like her. She personally does not return phone calls and doesn't seem to care about the residents' happiness. We might have renewed our lease but with all the recent safety issues, and the staff's lack of response to resident concerns about this, we probably will not renew next year.

Like any place in Charlotte, even if you own a house, there going to be a few incidents. I have been living here for over 5 years and these are the only 2 incidents someone can come up with. And these were not residents of Radbourne. Someone followed that car home late at night. I agree the only problem is with maintenance, everything else is great. And why would you need to worry about management? I do not even know who they are. Just drop off your rent in the drop box and you have no problems. I will be here until I decide to get a house. Great Place.
