I liked the apartment layout, and the grounds are well-kept. The walking paths around the complex are pleasant. The location is convenient if you attend the nearby university. Parking was adequate, but sometimes you do have to hunt for a space away from your building. I never had any issues with maintenance; they took care of things in a timely manner. The walls are somewhat thinner than other places I've lived, so expect to hear your neighbors frequently. The office manager was professional and amiable, but I concur that some of the office staff were condescending or rude. The response made by one of the office staff toward the 06/01/06 review proves this point. The office attendant is insulting and hypocritical about grammar toward the resident, which is very poor customer service no matter the situation. I can also attest to my car being broken into three times, and I lived there when a resident was robbed at gun-point. There was never any crime issues when I lived in a shadier part of town before I moved to Ashford Green, so it does seem fairly localized. Perhaps this is because the complex is somewhat secluded from the street, it's difficult to say. All in all, it's only worth living here if you don't want to live far from UNCC. Other than that, your money is better spent elsewhere.
