I have been a resident of Autumn Park Apartments for six months now. Last night my neighbor was robbed at gun point directly in front of the building. Numerous people here have been arrested for drugs and concealed weapons. Several cars have been stolen and stripped. The biggest nightmare of all is that the management here seems completely unconcened about any of these things. They do not notify us about the high rate of crime in front of our own homes. This is the worst place I have ever lived in. If you have children please do not move in here. You can expect for them to be exposed to drug deals in the parking lots, drugs and graffiti in their playground, and shootings at night. If you are considering moving here please obtain a police report about the complex before you make your decision.

They DO criminal background checks, and they hired a police car to drive around the complex. I feel very safe there.

I partially agree with the person above. I don't know about the drug deals and graffiti but I have experienced the gun shots. I do see a policeman driving around every now and then but I did expect a whole lot more. Especially, since I am in the University area and live across from IBM where I in fact work. I use to live in the University area before moving to Pineville and it wasn't even close to being this bad. I don't know if all communities are like Autumn Park but I sure hope not. I do hope they are screening their occupants on more than just credit. I know they did a criminal background check but sometime apartment complexes are so caught up in filling spaces that they sometime omit things. I chose Autumn Park because from the appearance of the complex and the location I just knew I was making a good decision. Now I see that not only is the place turning into "the hood" or "ghetto" some would say the staff aren't really that professional. They are often rude, hardly smile, etc. I wish I would have known this before moving in b/c the prices I pay I could have gotten a place on Albermarle road for about $200 cheaper and witness the same community behavior. I do hope that Autumn Park manager or whom ever are looking into to this and eventually it will improve. So, I plan to stay until my lease is up but after that we will see.
