When Ghetto Meets "Luxury" Living

Years at this apartment: 2002 - 2003
So, my boyfriend and I moved into Barrington Place in September 2002 from New York. When we came to view the apartments, the staff was awesome and let us know of our acceptance within an hour. We moved in a week later and we were so happy...until January 2003.
When new management came in and all of a sudden, gangs were living in our community...we became extremely enraged. The gates were never working, there was an obscene amount of litter, loud noise and anyone was allowed to come in to the development.
The sign says luxury living, but when you let drug dealers and gangs in, luxury meets ghetto. We witnessed quite a few fights and horribly loud parties. We complained a number of times (along with other neighbors), but nothing was done.
When it was time to look into renewing our lease, we were told our rent would raise immensely! We decided to look elsewhere and found a nice place up north, that we love! The rent here is less than Barrington and we live in a much bigger apartment with all the ammenties and more.
This is a warning that you should avoid this place at all costs. Sure, the location is great, but there is the noise of the train, which can hardly be heard over the loud rap music and fighting.
