We moved here from Chicago in July of 2003. We were pretty excited because the place is so much nicer than anything we had lived in in Chicago, whose apartments tends to be pretty dumpy and small. Our original apartment was supposed to be ready for us to move in on a specific date, and when we got here it appeared to be ready. However as we were moving in we discoved that the apartment had a MAJOR infestation of fleas and there was a faint unwashed dog odor. We had to stay in a hotel for the night and lost a day of move in time, of which we were already limited on. To the rental office's credit, they were able to put us in another apartment first thing in the morning and compensated us for all of our expenses thru the ordeal.

There seems to be a large amount of turnaround in the office. In my short time here I have seen an entirely new staff (minus the manager) come and go, and I have only been here for a few months.

The apartments are nice and spacious, although the floors seem to creak a lot. We have a creak in our floor and my upstairs neighbor has a few, which they seem to enjoy walking on at all hours of the day and night. The train is a minor annoyance, but only because of the side of the development I live on. I wouldn't move into an apartment by the tracks. I havn't seen any of the "gang wars" or drug deals going down that other people were talking about, but there are a lot of annoying college kids here who litter a lot. The back gate seems to get broken about every other week, and it seems to take about a week for it to get fixed, which is annoying.
The maintenece staff are awesome and friendly. Overall, I think Barrington Place is pretty nice and a decent deal for the money if you are not living by the train.
