Management pays little attention to the details that make an apartment community a nice place to live. Calendars for community events are several months old. The gate was left unfixed for 6 months. The business center is regularly out of paper, ink, or the computers don't work at all. The card keys often don't work.

When asked for a refund for amenities for which I paid that were unavailable, I was told it was my fellow renters' fault not management's.

Overall management is incompetent at best.

During my time at Berkeley place one person was robbed at gunpoint and another individual's car was stolen at gunpoint.

In my opinion, management does all that they can do to keep the amenities and gates (THAT THE RESIDENTS TEAR UP AND BREAK) fully functional. I wish that my fellow residents would learn to appreciate the amenities that are provided by management. As far as the buisness center, everyone knows that paper and ink cartridges are kept in the leasing office and you only have to ask the girls in the office for it. The computers work just fine. I have noticed the restrictions on the computers but I truly dont mind the staff making the decision to block all of the porn and disgusting things downloaded onto them. Also, people are always waiting for the red light on the card reader to turn green to get in. That's not the way it works! You simply swipe your card and pull the door! Lets discuss this gate issue. Ever since management got the gates for there have been a small number of malfunctions. What you guys dont realize is that if you want the gates to work properly, YOU MUST STOP HITTING THEM WITH YOUR CARS!!! Everytime the gates break it's always bc someone drove their car thru it! They can't pull a new gate out of their a**! So yes, it is the residents fault not management and management always orders a new gate for the next person to slam into the d***m thing again! Come on people, is it fair to blame the staff for our screw ups? As far as crime in the area. Its Charlotte not the staff! They are not the ones runnin the streets and commiting crime. Criminals are. Yes, I'm sick of the crime in the area too but what can you do? All we as residents can do is be more proactive about crime in our community. I enjoy the community meetings that management holds for us. I do wish that more neighbors would care enough to show up and become more involved in the events that are held for us. Hopefully this will give readers and users of this website some insight as to what we as residetnts can do to help the staff maintain the nice things that have been provided in our community. At some point we/you as residents need to hold yourself accountable for things and stop blaming the staff when you get upset. They are here to help us and I think they do an excellent job dealing with us.
