This place is the biggest joke I have ever seen in a rental. Pay high $$ for crap!
First of all, on the 'tour' of Grandview before signing my lease I was shown an outdoor fireplace. How nice I thought! It has not worked since I moved in at the end of last year! I have no idea how long it has been broken prior to December. Both grills are broken and cannot be used. I went out to cook a steak about a month ago, the first grill had the igniter completely ripped out and the other igniter consisted of an exposed battery. Both were very dirty! Grills need to have maintenance and need to be cleaned frequently. Apparently Camden knows nothing of grill upkeep, or any other for that matter.
Secondly, I was told the lobby provides 'Starbucks' coffee. First time I got a cup I almost gagged. When I opened the cabinet to see exactly what I was drinking I got yelled at by the concierge telling me they do not want anybody in those cabinets. But I did manage to get a good enough look to see the coffee packets made by 'Royal Cup'. YUK!
Thirdly, the supposed 'theater'... The first time I walked to watch a movie, it was filthy! The projector has a VERY POOR picture and the equipment is all outdated. Obviously food had been on the floors for quite some time. I gave up and went back to my apt to rent a PPV. I decided to take a peek the other day and first thing I saw was a huge, black stain on the carpet right in from of the seats. Come on folks! At least clean the carpet! YUK!
Fourthly, the billiards room, ok if you want to play on only three sides of the table. One side has no room for a human and a cue. Your cue bangs the walls. Not to mention the piece of junk TV. It does have a non-working VCR though! Yes! I said VCR! Do they even make those anymore'' Stuck in the non-working VCR was a tape. American Pie! Go figure, that's about the rate of this place!
Now, let's talk about the trash shoots! Have not worked in months! I was told by a concierge Camden has no intention of fixing them. We had to carry our trash to the bay all summer during the highest time of heat; I had to hold my breath when I opened the door. PEEEEWWWW! There has been zero activity in regards to the repair. I believe the concierge was right. Will not be fixed anytime soon if ever.
I could go on & on about other things but I think the above is enough to give anyone a hint about how 'Grand' the Grandview truly is...

I have been at Grandview since January of 2008 and have thus far enjoyed my stay. The staff is friendly & professional. Yes, it's true the trash chutes were not working for some time but I was told it was due to unavailability of parts. Not really Camden's fault. Since repair there have been no issues... Recently new management has taken over and things are getting even better. I recommend Camden Grandview for anyone looking for a nice place with the convenience of a short walk to uptown. I have seen other posts complaining about maintenance. I personally have had excellent service from the maintenance crew. I do reccomend Candem Grandview.
